About the project

The formation of biogases from CO-fermentation - e.g. sewage sludge, agricultural waste - is a highly complex process. Today's gas sensory and analysis of the gas constituents provide values about the quality ultimately obtained in order to evaluate their energetic usability. The current monitoring is not able to predict the biogas process in order to achieve a consistent high quality.

The idea of Biogas Sensors is to develop a sensor array to detect early marker substances and energetic parameters during the fermentation process. These are immediately compared with the previous periods by intelligent data processing in order to allow proactive intervention in the process technology. In addition, early safety aspects should be predictable.
