About the online talk:

Our monthly research talk gives you the opportunity meet experts from German research funding organisations online. Each month we present a different organisation. During the 30-minutes talk you can ask the experts questions about the funding opportunities of their organisation, about the application process or the steps to take after a successful application. 

April: Meet the Helmholtz Association and the Helmholtz Information and Data Sciences Academy (HIDA)!

With more than 42,000 employees at a total of 18 research centers across Germany and a total annual budget of 5 billion euros, the Helmholtz Association is Germany‘s largest scientific organization. Helmholtz contributes to solving the major challenges facing society, science and the economy by conducting top-level research in strategic programmes within six research fields: Energy, Earth & Environment, Health, Aeronautics, Space and Transport, Matter, and Information. Helmholtz researches highly complex systems using  large-scale devices and infrastructure, cooperating closely with national and international partners.

HIDA – the Helmholtz Information & Data Science Academy – is Germany’s largest postgraduate training network in the field of information and data science. We prepare the next generation of scientists for a data-heavy future of research. HIDA is a hub for the exchange of knowledge and methods in the field of information & data science within the Helmholtz Association, Germany's largest research organization. It serves as a roof for six Helmholtz Information & Data Science Research Schools. They are linked by a network of 13 national research centers and 17 top-tier universities across Germany.
