Episode 8: "Meet Your Future You" - Women in Science
Our eighth event will highlight distinguished female scientists from Denmark and Egypt. Both researchers are award recipients of the For Women in Science programme, a global initiative founded by UNESCO and the Fondation L’Oréal. Through its national and international activities, the programme contributes to strengthening the representation of women in scientific leadership and to ensuring that diverse perspectives shape the future of research. Together with Research in Germany and the German Commission for UNESCO, the two award recipients will share insights into their academic careers and provide practical information and guidance for researchers who are considering conducting research in Germany as women.
Episode 7: "Meet Your Future You" - How to apply successfully for funding...
In our seventh episode, "How to apply successfully for funding...", we will focus on the application process for research funding in Germany. The session is aimed at international early-career researchers from all disciplines who are planning to start or continue their research careers with a stay in Germany and require financial support for their projects.
Drawing on its institutional experience, the DAAD will provide practical insights into funding application procedures and share hands-on guidance on how to prepare a strong application. In addition, international researchers who have successfully secured different types of funding will share their personal experiences and reflect on their individual paths toward funding approval with various funding organisations.
Episode 6: "Meet Your Future You" - Germany's research funding landscape (2nd edition)
In our sixth episode, multiple international researchers from diverse disciplines and backgrounds who have gained research experience in Germany will share their insights into their funding experiences. They will discuss the types of funding they received, the challenges they faced, and the positive outcomes of these funding opportunities. Additionally, they will reflect on how funding has supported their research and shaped their careers.
This episode is a repeat of Episode 3, as we have seen that the topic of funding is in high demand.

We have invited three well-established international female researchers who have also gained research experience in Germany. They will speak about the possibilities and challenges of researching in the STEM fields - science, technology, engineering and mathematics - as women in Germany, sharing their individual experiences and offering tips and tricks.

The launch of our brand-new online format for early career researchers took place on July 3rd, 2024. In this episode, three established researchers from Spain, India, and Sri Lanka shared valuable insights from their individual research experiences in Germany. They discussed Germany as a research destination, tips and tricks for planning a move to Germany, and the application processes for a PhD program in Germany.
