Scientific Networks

In brief

Researchers holding a PhD title are given the opportunity to set up a scientific network of 10 to 20 people with a view to engaging in multi-year exchange and cooperation on a scientific topic of their choice, across locations, with the aim of achieving a specific outcome, e.g.  the preparation of a joint project or the further development of research methods. PhD candidates can also be included.

Who can apply?

Qualified researchers (with a doctorate) at a German research institution (also abroad). International researchers can be included into the network to an amount of up to 50%.

Type and extent of funding

Travel and maintenance costs for work meetings of network members and for thematically relevant guests, coordination costs and publication costs.

Duration

Up to three years.

Application

Proposals can be submitted to the DFG at any time. Applications are submitted via an online application portal. You will find information about the application procedure on the programme website (see link below).
