Dr. Florian Bittner, research coordinator at Julius Kühn-Institut (JKI), Federal Research Centre for Cultivated Plants
Research - Evaluate - Advise: This "triad" in relation to their work on crop plants forms a unique selling point of the JKI in Germany. All three areas are anchored in law. The primary task is to provide rapid, targeted and competent advice to the federal government. This requires extensive research work (including preliminary research) to provide the expertise needed for many issues. The JKI consists of 17 specialized institutes, complemented by service units, such as library, data processing, field and greenhouse and administration. Around 1200 staff members work at the institutes of whom 350 are scientists. The JKI operates research facilities at currently 10 sites, its main office is located in Quedlinburg (Saxony-Anhalt).

Volkswagen Group Innovation - NEW AUTO - mobility for Generations to come
How do people want to move around in the megacities, but also in rural areas, in the coming decades? What options can we offer that will meet their needs? And how - with what kind of technological solutions - do we implement them into products, services and new business models in such a way that we achieve our climate targets? These are the questions we are dealing with in the new Volkswagen Group Innovation. On our way to becoming a sustainable mobility provider with a role model function in the areas of environment, safety and integrity, we rely on a cross-brand and efficient research network. This network connects experts, enables partnership-based cooperation at eye level, creates an innovative working environment and bundles activities in order to increase synergies and efficiencies across the group.
