December 2022

The year is ending and we all reflect on our 2022. But what does 2023 have in store for us? In this issue, we will show you the results of the THE World University Rankings 2023 and how German universities did in an international comparison. If your new year’s resolution is to learn a new language, you might want to check out the free German courses by Deutsche Welle.  A village in Germany called Feldheim sets a green energy example for the future. 9 German universities among the top 100 in the THE World University Rankings 2023

Stats & numbers
The Technical University of Munich (TUM) and LMU Munich are the best universities in Germany according to the World University Rankings 2023. And they are in good company: 7 other German universities have also made it into the top 100 despite almost 1,800 competitors across 104 countries and regions.

Solar, wind and biogas have replaced fossil fuels for electricity and heating. And what is also unique in Germany: The people of Feldheim banded together to operate their own electricity and heating grid. How did they do it?
