Current events in Ukraine show us how vulnerable peace and freedom can be. We condemn Russia's attack on Ukraine, which is contrary to international law. The solidarity of German politics and the scientific community goes out to the Ukrainian students and scientists. Furthermore, the 2022 update of the Academic Freedom Index holds some good news for researchers in Germany. Take care!
