is the controller and responsible for the processing of your personal data.

 

  1. Subject Matter of Data Protection

Subject matter of data protection are personal data, meaning any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (‘data subject’).

Upon registration for the “Research in Germany” event “Meet Neuroscientists and Funding Organisations from Germany”, you will be asked to provide the following personal data:

  • your first name and last name,
  • your email address,
  • additional information about your academic title,
  • additional information about the institution you are affiliated.

 

  1. Purpose of the Processing and Legal Basis

Your name is required in order to identify you as a participant of the “Research in Germany” event “Meet Neuroscientists and Funding Organisations from Germany”. Your email address is necessary to update you on the course of the event. Without providing these personal data participation in the “Research in Germany” event “Meet Neuroscientists and Funding Organisations from Germany” is not possible, unfortunately. Additionally, the DFG needs the information about your institution and affiliation to tailor the event to your academic needs and to enable networking among the participants.

Legal basis for the processing of these personal data is Art. 6 (1) b) GDPR (performance of contractual obligations). Your personal data will be deleted after the “Research in Germany” event “Meet Neuroscientists and Funding Organisations from Germany”.

Furthermore, you may consent that recordings are being made of you during the event for the purpose of event documentation and reporting by DFG and the German Embassy in Paris and that the DFG uses your personal data to contact you for a post-event survey. You can, of course, also participate in this “Research in Germany” event “Meet Neuroscientists and Funding Organisations from Germany” without consenting to that.

If you declare your consent, legal basis for the processing of your personal data is Art. 6 (1) a) GDPR (consent). You may withdraw your consent at any time with future effect by sending an email to postmaster@dfg.de. The lawfulness of the processing of your personal data up to this point of time will remain unaffected. After your withdrawal of consent your personal data will be deleted.

 

  1. Recipients of your Personal Data

Within the DFG, only those entities are given access to your personal data that require them in order to manage the “Research in Germany” event “Meet Neuroscientists and Funding Organisations from Germany”.

Outside the DFG, the entities that take part in the organisation of the event at the German Embassy in Paris will also have access to your personal data to be able to manage the event on-site. The German Embassy in Paris is also bound by the European GDPR.
