The 21st GAIN Conference is going virtual for the second time! The annual conference and talent fair of the German Academic International Network is the largest gathering of German universities, funding agencies and scientists abroad. We invite you to become part of a network of over 500 postdocs, scientists and experts from various research areas and gain access to information about career paths and funding opportunities in Germany. More than 100 representatives from German universities, research institutions, companies, and funding agencies can offer jobs and support as well as provide valuable insights and best practices at our talent fair.

The registration is free of charge and includes the entry to:

  • all show rooms
  • Webcast presentations by the German exhibitors
  • workshops (limited to 30 p.)
  • one-on-one video-calls with German representatives

"Doing research in Germany: Chances and challenges for international researchers"

Experts:

  • Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alina Dana Weber, Associate Professor of German Department of Modern Languages & Linguistics, Florida State University, former Postdoc at Freie Universität Berlin and DAAD Research Ambassador. She also serves as the German program’s study-abroad adviser and teaches FSU’s “Experiencing Germany” International Program in Dresden, Germany. 
  • Prof. Dr. Mary Oleskiewicz, Professor of Music, University of
    Massachusetts Boston, College of Liberal Arts
    She has held several prestigious multi-year fellowships from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (Germany) and the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service).
  • Dr. Neelakshi Joshi, Postdoctoral researcher at the University of Alberta, Canada. She is a DAAD alumna and has completed her doctorate studies at Dresden Leibniz Graduate School at the Leibniz Institute for Ecological Urban and Regional Development.

Registration details: You will need to apply for the partcipation in the workshops seperately. Please be quick, as the principle will be: first come, first serve. The application for all workshops will be open from  20 July– 31 July.
