“Research in Germany” at the FENS Forum 2022

From July 9 to 13, neuroscientists from all over the world will finally come together again at Europe’s largest international neuroscience conference, the biannual FENS Forum.

As part of the initiative “Research in Germany”, the DFG and further research and funding organisations from Germany will provide comprehensive information on the German research landscape in the field of neuroscience and on funding opportunities for researchers of all career levels.

Visit us at the following information and networking events at the „FENS Forum 2022“:

Meet representatives of major German research funding organisations to discuss possible funding options in Germany as well as opportunities for international collaboration, such as:

Information and networking event “Meet Neuroscientists and Funding Organisations from Germany“, Tuesday, July 12, 2022, 7.00–9.30 pm (external event)

“Research in Germany” kindly invites researchers at an early stage of their scientific careers to get in touch with experts from the German neuroscience community and representatives of German funding organisations. At our event you can get more information and individual advice regarding the following topics:

  1. A reviewer´s perspective on grant proposals
  2. Finding the right lab for your postdoc and beyond
  3. Balancing life and work
  4. Coming to Germany from abroad
  5. Starting your own lab: How to become a successful group leader
  6. Funding opportunities for all career stages
  7. Setting up collaborations and shaping your scientific network
  8. Ways towards scientific independence

The following experts and contact persons will be present: Laura Busse, Ludwig Maximilians University Munich, Livia de Hoz, Charité Berlin, Andreas Draguhn, Heidelberg University, André Fiala, University of Göttingen, Ileana L. Hanganu-Opatz, Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, Johannes Letzkus, University of Freiburg, Silvana Valtcheva, University of Cologne. Furthermore, you can meet with representatives of the above funding organisations.

Every 20 minutes you will be able to change your conversation partner and find out more about another of the topics mentioned. Refreshments will be provided.
