This programme funds attendance of language and area studies courses as well as special language/terminology courses offered by state or state-recognised German universities and affiliated language schools.
Who can apply?
Students in Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes starting their 3rd academic year (all disciplines).
Type and extent of funding
University summer courses: one-off scholarship payment of 950 euros; scholarship holders from Least Developed Countries receive a scholarship of 1,125 euros. Payment of a country-specific travel allowance (if applicable) and payments towards health, accident and personal liability insurance cover.
University winter courses: 1,875 euros.
University summer courses: minimum of 18 teaching days.
University winter courses: 6 weeks.
The application for a scholarship must be submitted online through the DAAD website. You can access the application portal through the scholarship database.
