The Alliance regards the Russian invasion as an attack on the fundamental values of freedom, democracy and self-determination, which in turn provide the basis for academic freedom and opportunities for academic cooperation.
Stats & numbers
The Academic Freedom Index regularly provides data on the state of academic freedom worldwide. In the recently published 2022 version, Germany ranks first place, while at the same time an alarming negative trend can be observed at the global level.
