With over 1,250 members worldwide and a tradition of 355 years, the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina is the world’s oldest continuously existing academy of medicine and natural sciences. The Union of the German Academies of Sciences and Humanities is an association of eight academies of sciences and humanities. Young Academy

The Young Academy was founded in 2000 and is a joint project of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities (BBAW) and the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina.
