Are you a young researcher working in the areas of architecture, urban development, cultural heritage preservation/education, art and cultural science or the social sciences? Are you working on a subject related to cultural heritage preservation? Then apply for a PhD scholarship from the Wüstenrot Stiftung! Since 2010, the foundation’s monument programme has focused on projects from the period 1945 to 1980, providing funding for projects related to post-war modernism. Applications are invited from young researchers of all nationalities.
Who can apply?
Requirements for applicants include the following:
- outstanding academic achievements and exam results at university level
- dissertation project related to post-war modernism with the expectation of an above-average result
- PhD at a university in Germany
- first university degree completed by the age of 30
What form does funding take?
Scholarship holders receive a basic stipend of 1,400 euros, plus an additional allowance of 150 euros per month to cover material costs. In addition, scholarship holders may apply for a family allowance. Funding is generally granted for a period of two years.
When is the closing date for applications?
The closing dates for applications are 1 May 2017 and 1 November.
