Are you an artist currently working on a doctoral degree project? Do you need an apartment/studio and financial support? Then apply for a fellowship from the Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart. The foundation offers an interdisciplinary and international fellowship programme for artists and scholars. The programme is targeted at artists in the fields of architecture, visual arts, performing arts, design, literature, music/sound and time-based media. In addition, individuals working in the humanities, social sciences or business/economics can apply to the “art, science & business” programme for a residency fellowship in Stuttgart.
Who can apply?
Requirements for applicants include the following:
- aged under 36
- applicants aged above 35 should have completed their university degree not longer than five years previously
- command of either German, English or French
Fellowships are granted for periods of three to twelve months. It is possible to pursue a project within the framework of the fellowship. Roughly 70 fellows are chosen every 24 months. Up to 45 studios are available for their use.
What form does funding take?
Among other things, the fellowship includes a furnished apartment/studio with electricity, water and heating, financial support amounting to 1,150 euros per month, plus one-off expenses incurred for travel to and from Stuttgart.
When is the closing date for applications?
The next round of applications will take place from 1 September 2016 until 30 November 2016.
