New round of applications has begun
A new round of applications for the fellowship programme began in March 2015. Applications are invited from candidates who already have either a PhD or four years of research experience. Depending on the applicant’s home and destination country, two types of fellowship are available:
Applications for Global Fellowships are invited from:
- citizens of the European Union (EU) and associated countries
- researchers who have been continuously living and researching in one of these countries for the past five years (regardless of their nationality)
Upon completion of the programme, however, fellows are obliged to return for at least one year to the country from which they originally applied.
European Fellowships are open to researchers of any nationality worldwide. The host institution at which they intend to research must be located in an EU or EU-associated country, however. The fellowships cover living and travel expenses, as well as grants towards research costs. During their stay abroad, fellows can also undertake internships lasting several months in companies or public-sector institutions.
