How will cities adapt to demographic change? Which innovations in energy efficiency will guarantee mobility in the future? How will cities respond to climate change? And how will we manage to live sustainably?
Researchers all over Germany are looking for answers to pressing questions about how to make cities liveable in the future. The DAAD hosted a press tour to give international journalists the opportunity to find out more about the state of German research on sustainable future cities and debate with the experts.
The tour took place from 21–26 June 2015. The itinerary included the Ruhr Area − the centre of Germany’s manufacturing industry and the largest urban agglomeration in Germany –, Braunschweig and Berlin.
