Dear Readers,
Every year since 1951, Nobel laureates in the disciplines of chemistry, physics, medicine and economics have gathered in Lindau giving outstanding young researchers from all over the world the opportunity to meet Nobel Prize winners. The Lindau Meetings are globally unique. International interchange and cooperation are brought to life and dialogue is promoted between science, technology and society. That is why the Federal Ministry of Education and Research supports the Nobel Laureate Meetings. The 61st Nobel Laureate Meeting at Lindau is dedicated to the winners of the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. 25 Nobel laureates and 570 junior researchers from 80 countries will come together from 26 June to 1 July and transform Lindau into a laboratory for the future of health research. The Year of Science 2011 is also dedicated to research for our health. Through its programmes and events the Year of Science creates a forum where citizens can discuss the opportunities and possibilities presented by the results of research.

This year, three Thai scientists and researchers will participate in the 61st Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting dedicated to Physiology or Medicine.
