The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation promotes academic cooperation between excellent scientists and scholars from abroad and from Germany. To this end, it grants more than 2000 research fellowships and research awards annually.
The Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK e.V.) is the umbrella organisation of the 80 Chambers of Industry and Commerce in Germany. The DIHK speaks for more than three million entrepreneurs and represents their interests towards national and European politics, inter alia in the field of research and innovation.
Deutsche Welle (DW) is Germany's international broadcaster that produces television, radio and online content in 30 languages. Its unique mix of news, information and cultural highlights offers European insights to international issues.
Research of practical utility lies at the heart of all activities pursued by the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft. Founded in 1949, the research organization undertakes applied research that drives economic development and serves the wider benefit of society. Its services are solicited by customers and contractual partners in industry, the service sector and public administration.
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is the largest funding organisation in the world supporting the international exchange of students and scholars.
The German Commission for UNESCO is the link between Germany and UNESCO. It is a National Commission established under Article VII of the UNESCO Constitution. It acts as an intermediary of foreign cultural and educational policy, and is supported by the Foreign Office.
The German Council of Science and Humanities (Wissenschaftsrat) draws up recommendations on the development of science and research in particular of the university sector and thereby contributes to the safeguarding of the international competitiveness of German science in the national and European science system.
The AiF is the German Federation of Industrial Research Associations. The central concern of this registered non-profit association is the promotion of applied Research and Development (R&D) for the benefit of small and medium-sized enterprises (SME).
The DFGWT started in 1981 as an association of roughly 100 corporate and private members. It has the objective of stimulating exchange and cooperation between French and German scientists.
The DFG is the self-governing organisation for science and research in Germany. With 594 elected review board members representing as many disciplines in 48 standing review boards it serves all branches of science and the humanities.

The International Bureau has been commissioned by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) to strengthen the international ties of German universities, research institutes and enterprises with the ultimate goal of building competencies and fostering competitive advantages for industry and the research community in Germany in the areas of research and innovation.
More than 4,800 scientists and scholars conduct projects at ca. 80 research institutes of the Max Planck Society (MPG). They perform basic research of the highest quality at the frontiers of knowledge.
