Dissertation fellowships from the German Environmental Foundation

Are you passionate about the subject of environmental protection and want to do a PhD in this field? Does your intended dissertation address a topical environmental issue and offer a possible solution? Then apply for a dissertation fellowship from the German Federal Environmental Foundation (DBU).
Who can apply?
Requirements for applicants include the following:
- the subject of the doctoral thesis must be concerned with the environmental situation in Germany or with global environmental challenges that are relevant to Germany
- an above-average university degree
- a good command of German; applications must also be submitted in German
the PhD doctoral thesis cannot already have been started
What form does funding take?
The fellowship comprises financial and non-material support. A basic stipend of 1,500 euros per month is provided, plus a further 210 euros per month to cover material costs. In addition, fellows receive personal support from DBU experts and take part in DBU seminars.
When is the closing date for applications?
Applications can be submitted from now until 15 January 2018.
