What was the InnoMine Chile initiative about?
Reaching out for the mining future in Chile
The InnoMine Chile initiative (Twitter: #InnoMineChile) addressed the German and the Chilean mining research community as well as small and medium enterprises in this field. The initiative started with a Call for Ideas & Innovation addressing technology developers and researchers in German universities and non-university research institutions as well as representatives from the German Mittelstand who develop application-oriented technologies, products and/or processes.
A total of 10 tandems (consisting of 10 researchers and 10 SME representatives) has been selected for the initiative who had the opportunity to present their ideas and innovations at the InnovationPlatform in Santiago de Chile. A 2-day event in March 2017 has set the stage for networking with prospective research, business and cooperation partners to reach out for potential project opportunities. Before this event, a 2-day InnovationWorkshop has "trained" the InnoMine Chile tandems from Germay in terms of market and sector specific know-how, intercultural understanding, innovation thinking and presentation skills.
In May 2017, the InnoMine Chile tandems had another chance to strengthen the relations with the Chilean mining stakeholders as a group of up to 30 top-researchers has been invited to visit Germany. This 1-week InnovationTour has given the opportunity to network, visit universities, institutions and companies and lay the foundation for ongoing project development.
The Fraunhofer project management team for InnoMine Chile supported and guided the German and Chilean attendees of the initiative during the whole period of time. If you have any questions or if you like to get more information please write an email to inno-mine[at]fraunhofer.de.
